Willingham Leads Avenida To Victory
Avenida quickly built a double-digit lead in the early going, pulling 19-9 ahead on a three-point play from Sancho Lyttle after five and a half minutes.
And they successfully kept Beretta at arm's length the rest of the way.
The hosts briefly threatened to catch Avenida early in the third quarter when Nicole Antibe's lay-up made it 47-44, but they got no closer as Avenida pulled clear once again.
Lyttle finished with 14 points, Anke De Mondt added 13 and Alba Torrens had 10 for Avenida.
Laura Macchi led Beretta with 14 points, while Raffaella Masciadri had 12, Mudju Ngoyisa 11, and Chiara Pastore 10.
Avenida stay second behind Wisla Can-Pack Krakow with a 4-1 record, while Beretta drop to 3-2.
